Title : The Wild Robbing of Online Bank: Financial Crimes and Digital Forensics {Click!)

Speaker : Prof. Da-Yu Kao, PhD. Central Police University, Taiwan
Da-Yu Kao is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Management, Central Police University, Taiwan. He is responsible for various recruitment efforts and training programs for Taiwan civil servants, police officers, or ICT technicians. He has an extensive background in law enforcement and a keen interest in information security, ICT governance, technology-based investigation, cyber forensics, human resource development, and public sector globalization. He was a detective and forensic police officer at Taiwans Criminal Investigation Bureau (under the National Police Administration). With a Masters degree in Information Management and a Ph.D. degree in Crime Prevention and Correction, he had led several investigations in cooperation with police agencies from other countries for the past 20 years. He is now the director of Computer Crime Investigation Lab at Central Police University and the webmaster of Cybercrime Investigation and Digital Forensics in Facebook Group. Abstract : The recent cyber-attacks on banks or financial institutions have increased the technical expertise of cybercriminals. Cyber black markets for hacking tools or services are gaining widespread attention as more advanced persistent threat attacks are relevant to such markets. This talk reviews the recent wild robbing of online bank threats and highlights the cybercrime investigation of financial crimes. This talk also addresses the countermeasure of a cybercrime insider investigation to detect anomalies in network logs. The analysis of cybercrime insider investigation presents many opportunities for actionable intelligence on improving the quality and value of digital evidence. By integrating an effective cybercrime investigation and digital forensics, analysts can minimize the cost of collecting evidence in a forensically sound manner.

Speaker : Prof. Yeong-il Victor Kwon, PhD, Graduate School of Management of Technology(MOT), Hoseo University, Korea
Prof. Kwon Yeong-il (Victor) is teaching on big data service strategy and platform business at the Graduate School of Management of Technology (MOT) of the Hoseo University in Korea. His job experiences and competencies covered mainly in IT strategy planning, global IT consulting, e-Government, digital infrastructure. He had worked to establish ICT policy and strategies of e-Government projects and digital infrastructure at National Information Society Agency (NIA) from 1997 to 2019. He had been worked in charge of General Director of the Information Architecture Division, Public Information Support Center (PISC) and K-ICT Big Data Center and e-Government Standard Software Framework (eGovFrame) Center. Abstract : As for now, the 4th industrial revolution is the current and developing environment in which disruptive technologies and trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big data and artificial intelligence (AI) are changing the way we live and work. Especially, Big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes it possible for machines to learn from experience, adjust to new inputs and perform human-like tasks. Most AI examples that you hear about today – from Go-playing games to self-driving cars – rely heavily on deep learning and natural language processing. Using these technologies, computers can be trained to accomplish specific tasks by processing large amounts of data and recognizing patterns in the data. It will be presented about the issues of big data and AI as an innovation growth in the 4th industrial revolution as well as the strategy of big data network and AI Initiatives in Korea.
