Title : Future Internet Model for Smart Environment: Perspective, Challenges and Possible Solutions
Time : 16:40~18:00 July 2 (Thu) 2015
Speaker : Dhananjay Singh, PhD, SMIEEE
Dr. Dhananjay Singh (SM), received his Master¡¯s (M. Tech. in IT) degree with spec. in Wireless Communication and Computing from Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A), India in 2006 and Ph.D. degree in the Dept. of Ubiquitous IT from Dongseo University (DSU), Busan, South Korea in Feb. 2010. He has worked as a Senior member of Research Engineer with Future Internet Architecture (FIA) and Developing Future Internet Network Model (DEFINE) team at National Institute for Mathematical Sciences (NIMS) and Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI) Daejeon, South Korea from March 2010 - May 2012. After that, he joined as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Electronics Engineering at Hankuk (Korea) University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Seoul, South Korea. He has published 75+ refereed scientific papers, delivered 30+ invited talks and TPC members 100+ scientific conferences and Journals in his 10 years research carrier. He has achieved 5 time¡¯s best paper award from IEEE conferences and 2 times fellowship award from APAN meetings in Singapore and Manila. Currently, he is a senior member of IEEE, member of International Advisory Panel in IoT Asia 2015 and Chair of the Global Division of IT and SENSE research lab at HUFS, South Korea. His research interests focus on the design, analysis and implementation of algorithms and protocols for large-scale data set to solve real-world problems which includes WSN, IoT, WMN, 6lowpan, e-Healthcare system, signal and system, future internet architecture & services etc.

Abstract : The growth on the IoT technologies and their services are leveraging new possibilities of networking architectures. Therefore, several researchers have initiated research in networking architectures that aims to the deployment of Future Internet Architecture for processing, storing and information exchanging. The main reason for the issues is the linkage and heavy use of TCP/IP stack protocols. The current research is being directed towards formulating relationships between Future Internet and distributed systems. The idea of the FIA is motivated by recent advances in mobile computing and communication technologies which now make it feasible to design and develop the next generation of applications through the sharing of computing resources in IoT applications. All these initiatives simultaneously are actually known as ¡°Future Internet Service¡± research. In this talk, we specify an opportunistic, socially-driven, self-organizing, cloud networking architecture using a future internet model. The talk will highlight the requirements and solutions that future internet brigs to accommodate the inherent challenges of today¡¯s services for smart environment. For example, e-Healthcare System, Smart Highways System, Smart Home Monitoring System etc.
